The best time I've experienced so far this summer was at Keefer Lake with a group of hams, their families and friends.  There were 34 people in attendance which included 20 hams.  People were busy visiting, fishing, hiking, canoeing, playing bocce ball and badminton.  On Saturday night there was a potluck dinner.  Garry, VE7EIY, told stories while cooking roast beef at the barbeque.  Then out came the salads, every possible kind imaginable.  Sunday morning I was able to check into NORAC's net with my portable and 450 ohm ladder line antenna (home built) hung from a tree.  Finally, Rob VA7RMM, graciously invited me to check into the BC net using his mobile.  This was my first time at HF.  Thanks Rob.
