RADIO AMATEUR LICENSE COURSES

The North Okanagan Radio Amateur Club (NORAC) offers yearly courses designed to help people get on the air with their Basic certification. In order to become a certified Radio Amateur you must pass at least one of Industry Canada  (no Morse code) exams. There are currently three certifications available; BASIC (no Morse code), ADVANCED (no Morse code), and 5 WPM (code only). NORAC has a volunteer examiner to provide Industry Canada exams to potential candidates for any of these certifications.

Although the Basic course is not mandatory, it is highly recommended before writing the exam.

The club typically runs a BASIC certification course in the Spring. All courses including the ADVANCED certification course and the Morse code course will only be provided if there are enough interested participants so don't forget to contact the Principal for potential course dates. These courses are provided 'AT COST' which includes books and a NORAC membership and will run from 6 to 8 weeks. Please note that club instructors and examiners volunteer their time to promote the hobby to all that wish to participate.
