The cross-Canada C4FM net takes place in WIRES-X room 40678 (CQ-CANADA-VE1AO) every Wednesday at 6 PM Pacific time. Local access from Vernon and surrounding area is possible via NORAC's 442.500 mid-level repeater located on the Commonage. Set your Yaesu C4FM radio to 442.500+ in the DN mode and check in when our province is called.

On January 9, 2019 the net will have a special guest: Chris Petersen K9EQ. Chris is one of the main contributors to "WIRES-X, The Bible". Chris is a beta tester for Yaesu's WIRES-X program and knows the answers to your WIRES-X-related questions before you even have them.

To keep the program moving along, Denis VE3BF, net control for the cross-Canada C4FM net, asks you to send your advanced WIRES-X questions to him at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

I know many club members in Vernon do regularly attend this weekly cross-Canada net... which shows our club's interest in C4FM and WIRES-X. Now is the time for us to ask the tough questions, possibly even about the future of WIRES-X.

FYI and 73,
Mike VE7KPZ
NORAC Vice President 2017-2019

Ps: as the net has now passed, I'm happy to report that I have had my personal question answered: "how does one fetch the metadata from the C4FM digital stream?" The answer is here: https://www.hamoperator.com/rw/Projects/files/847b2a1703049b27baf7d772c50e1230-1.html
